In 2012, the temple administration introduced a token system for visitors, with tokens provided from taxi stands. Each devotee is allocated 10-20 seconds to visit the presiding deity, and proof of identity is mandatory. The temple is accessible from Rishikesh, located 298 km away, via various routes, and from Kedarnath Temple, via the Rudraprayag route or the Ukhimath and Gopeshwar route.
